We present a simple colorization method using small quantities of representative pixels in a given monochrome image. Our idea is based on selecting some appropriate representative pixels from the given monochrome image, these pixels are called landmark pixels. Then we classify the representative pixels to find new ones. We colorize the monochrome image by the new representative pixels. We develop an algorithm to derive these landmark pixels from a given monochrome image, and use these pixels in colorizing the monochrome image. This algorithm need not let user input a lot of strokes and can obtain the high quality color image. |
