This paper introduces a post-processing of YCbCr4:2:0 compressed image for color enhancement. Most of the existing image compression coding standards such as JPEG employ DCT and YCbCr4:2:0 chrominance format. After reconstructing the image in YCbCr4:2:0 format at a decoder, one usually applies a noise removal filter, which is followed by a chrominance up-sampling filter. The resultant YCbCr4:4:4 format image is eventually transformed to RGB color space especially for displaying the reconstructed image. Conventionally, these operations are performed by three independent methods: noise removal, up-sampling, and color transformation. Then, we propose an innovative algorithm intended to generate high-fidelity RGB image from the YCbCr4:2:0 image while removing the coding artifacts. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art method with regard to the objective quality measure. |
