Ecological value is believed to be of more practically significance rather than the physical wight as to enhance the ecological contribution made by collecting and recycling ELP as well as better facilitate the producers to meet the regulatory requirement of extended producer responsibility. By taking the waste electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE) as an example, this paper firstly studies the major problems with current collecting system. Then several potential calculation method of ecologic value of ELP are compared. An ecologic-value-based re-design model for WEEE collecting system is forwarded accordingly. Instructions on sustainably optimizing the ELP coalescing system b considering the ecologic value are discussed in the end.
