The IEEE 802.11n wireless local-area network (WLAN) has been commonly used for the Internet access service, due to its simplicity, flexibility, and expandability. To improve the performance by reducing interferences among wireless links in WLAN, the transmission powers of the access points (APs) should be optimized. Previously, we have proposed the transmission power optimization method for concurrently communicating three APs that selects either the maximum or minimum power to each AP after assigning the most distant channels between the APs. However, this method does not give the best performance when two or three APs are located closely. In this paper, we propose an improvement of this method by assigning the same channel to the nearby APs so that the CSMA/CA protocol well controls the competing links with them. For evaluations, we conduct experiments with four network topologies using Raspberry Pi APs, and confirm the effectiveness of the proposal. |
