The optical power sensing applications are important in photonics applications systems such as optical measurement and optical communication. We have proposed a novel scheme which uses an amplified-spontaneous-emission feedback circuit (ASEFC) in front of a conventional photodetector where the method can significantly improve the optical power resolution. In this paper, numerical simulations have been performed in order to clarify the performance of the ASEFC in optical-power sensing applications. |
