We have demonstrated that a flexible light-induced self-written (LISW) waveguide can be fabricated at a wavelength of 853 nm using soft material. A straight LISW optical waveguide with similar core size to that of the input graded-index plastic optical fiber (GI-POF) has been actualized successfully. The optical interconnection between two GI-POFs has also been demonstrated. |
