With the development of wireless communication technology, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technique is being discussed. To improve efficiency, besides the bit error rate (BER), reduction of complexity is also an important issue. Though maximum likelihood detection (MLD) achieves the best BER performance, the complexity of MLD is extremely large as it increases exponentially with the number of signal streams. Another MIMO detection scheme, Gibbs sampling with Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC), achieves the similar performance of MLD and the complexity of metric calculation can be reduced. |
