Offering extremely high energy-efficiency, adiabatic quantum-flux-parametron (AQFP) logic family is considered a promising candidate as a future low power technology for building high-performance computing systems. In our previous study, an 8-bit Kogge-Stone adder with more than 2000 Josephson junctions has been demonstrated. Analysis on building AQFP-based supercomputer has been discussed as well. An HDL-based AQFP cell library has been built and demonstrated in our previous presentation, which enables logic simulation for large-scale AQFP circuit design. In this paper, we further present the first step towards a systematic VLSI design flow for the implementation of AQFP circuits, which includes a series of design steps. |
