Previously, we introduced two parameters for the blank element selection algorithm to control the difficulty of generated fill-in-blank problems in Java Programming Learning Assistant System (JPLAS). However, we did not evaluate how they affect the solution performance of students. In this paper, we generated fill-in-blank problems by applying the algorithm using different parameter values to Java codes related the RSA algorithm, and investigated the solution performance of students taking Network security and Java programming courses. Then, we found that both the number of blanks and the code length affect the solution performance. |
