|
HTTP Adaptive Streaming (HAS) has been introduced as the most common technology in delivering video over the network environment recently. By requiring video content to be available at different bit rates to adapt to the network condition’s fluctuation, HAS could improve the user’s perceived Quality of Experience (QoE). However, such the frequent adaption might cause the negative impact on premium user’s QoE. In the previous study, a QoE management framework has been proposed and clarified in the scenario of bandwidth competition between video service and other services. In this work, an investigation has been performed to understand how the proposed framework deals with the bandwidth competition among HAS players. The result shows that the framework could detect QoE reduction and improve the user’s QoE.
