OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a well-known routing protocol in the Internet. OSPF routing is based on the cost of each link, which is calculated from physical bandwidth. However, it causes traffic congestions at links where heavy traffic is concentrated. Even if there are alternative routes, where available bandwidths are enough to avoid congestions, OSPF cannot use such alternative routes to avoid the congestions. We focus on OpenFlow technology, which separates network control function from switches for flexible routing. We proposed a multipath routing method based on available bandwidth by using OpenFlow technology, in order to improve throughputs. In this paper, we evaluate the proposed method about estimation control packets. |
