In this paper, a star-ring-based radio-over-fibre (RoF) optical access network architecture is addressed firstly. In particular, the combination of optical orthogonal frequency division multiple (OOFDM) and RoF in transmission is taken into account. This architecture allows subcarrier sharing between different cells via the ring-based optical front-haul inter-communication. Each optical network unit (ONU) can share its subcarrier [between the optical line terminal (OLT) and the ONU] to other ONUs (cells) via the ring-based front-haul network. Secondly, a corresponding downlink resource allocation, real-time sharing algorithm (RTSA) towards 5G is proposed. Throughput of user equipment (UE) and transmission delay are considered. Simulation results are presented in this paper finally to evaluate our proposal. |
