The development of high-density wireless networks will be essential for the realization of applications in which many devices are packed in a limited space. This paper describes the development of such networks in which devices are low-cost, yet able to transmit data simultaneously on a single channel. Such low-cost devices need to have a very simple hardware architecture and low energy consumption, and they need to work without a dedicated network infrastructure to allow for flexibility and low cost. This research uses a brain-inspired scheme, in which information is encoded as the silent intervals between successive pulses in pulse trains. |
