Network-on-chip (NoC) has been proposed as a better interconnection method than a bus architecture. The performance of it has a great impact on the whole chip multiprocessors system. A large number of routing algorithms have been presented to improve the network performance under certain traffic patterns. However, traffic patterns are generally unknown in advance and vary from applications. In this paper a new traffic robust routing algorithm is proposed to detect the current traffic pattern and then adjust the routing algorithm to achieve better performance. With the combination of both deterministic and adaptive routing algorithms, the network performance can be improved. |
