Summary:
The aim of this presentation is to describe the NFC transmission in banking applications. It is divided into five main parts. In the first part, the technical design of the payment card is discussed. The size of card, built-in it microprocessor, the file structure of card data, and the communicates application with card, which is based on client-server communication with using APDU frames are described. The next part is devoted to the description Near Field Communication. I showed how this transmission standard works, how fast and in what band of frequency. Then the diagram of contactless payment by card is presented. In the third part of presentation, the data that are stored on the payment card and the division of them into nonconfidential and confidential data are described. Then my system with is consists of Raspberry Pi 2 and Adafruit PN532 Breakout Board with implementation of my software, that allows to read non confidential data from the card are presented. In the fourth part description of the possible scenarios of attacks aimed at carrying out the transaction of the victim credit card are presented. Attack scenarios are divided into two groups: relay attack and clone card. In addition, the way how to protect payment card are presented. In the last part of this presentation my closest research plans in this are described and I summary all information.
