Summary:
Wireless multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications systems are expected in their potential for dramatic gains in channel capacity. However, a high channel capacity cannot be obtained when the number of user’s antenna is less than the number of base station (BS) antenna in the MIMO communications. In this case, to achieve the high channel capacity, multi-user MIMO systems are investigated recently as an important topic. Linear Processing (LP) and Block Diagonalization (BD) are well known algorithms proposed in multi-user MIMO systems. As a drawback of these method, it takes time to estimate detailed channel information. This paper proposes the method to derive the transmitter weight by using DOA (direction-of-arrival) estimation, and to assign each beam to each user in transmitter side. In addition, each technique are compared by the channel capacity and the eigenvalue in the indoor simulation using ray-tracing.
