Summary:
In this paper, a beam controllable active antenna is proposed. The antenna is excited by two input signals which have 90 degrees phase difference to each other. As the phase of the combined signal is controlled by the amplitude of the input signal, the main beam direction can be reasonably changed. The calculated characteristics of the antenna are investigated and compared with the experimental results. Consequently, it is verified that the directivity of the proposed antenna can be successfully controlled .
