Summary:
Many types of real-world data can be represented as a multilayer network of multiple interconnected networks, and data mining methods for multilayer networks have been actively studied. We proposed MIERank, a collaborative ranking algorithm that simultaneously ranks communities on a network and individual nodes on the network. In this paper, we apply MIERank to multi-layer networks and experimentally investigate how well it can cooperatively rank each layer of the network and the individual nodes that comprise each layer of the network in a multi-layer network. The ranking of each layer of the network and each individual node is done by the probability that each node stays on the joint graph in a random walk. The accuracy of joint ranking will be examined through experiments on multi-layer networks that combine multiple networks.
