Summary:
Japan is often subject to frequent natural disasters such as typhoons, and torrential rains, which may affect communication infrastructure. However, in the event of a disaster, reliable and secure information exchange between individuals impacted and the disaster management center is essential to facilitate rescue activities. Therefore, it is important to maintain and provide temporary communication coverage to the affected region to allow for information exchange in a secure manner. Moreover, attribute-based encryption provides the ability for access control but requires a huge computation cost. However, in the event of large-scale disasters, a method with low computation cost is preferable to reduce the battery consumption of communication devices. In this study, we propose a secure and cost-efficient system by using a (2,3)-threshold secret sharing with access control that is suitable for use in a drone network.
