Summary:
In this paper, a novel integrated-filter-antenna (IFA) module with dual-passband filtering response is proposed and it integrates a stepped impedance resonator parallel coupled-line microstrip dual-band bandpass filter with a microstrip-fed slot antenna. A prototype IFA is designed and experimentally characterized. Two passbands of the dual-band bandpass filter are recorded at 885 MHz and 2.457 GHz, with a fractional bandwidth of 15.14% and 10.74%, respectively. The measured impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 3.78% at 1.797 GHz. Utilizing this proposed structure, not only size reduction, but also the measured isolations between the slot antenna and the dual-band filter around-21.78 dB can be achieved.
