Summary:
To deploy various Internet of Things (IoT) services, IoT platforms for high-efficiency communication have been actively discussed in the past. The IoT data exchange platform (IoT-DEP), which has been standardized by the ISO/IEC JTC1, is a promising candidate as a platform. Information centric network (ICN) technologies can be applied to access the data from/to the IoT-DEP. This study describes the co-operation among the interworking points in the IoT-DEP for wide area services. Interworking points are the junctions where the requests and responses encounter each other. They are commonly referred to as the rendezvous points. Generally, in ICN technologies, co-operation among the interworking points have not been specified explicitly. Therefore, this study surveys the various approaches to these operations and compares them.
