Summary:
In this paper, a novel concept of a dual-band differential rectenna is proposed. The proposed rectenna has a simple structure in which 2.45- and 5.8-GHz band two-element array antennas are simply stacked. Each array antenna has a high gain of 10 dBi. An equivalent circuit of the rectenna is designed by using nonlinear circuit simulation. The conversion efficiency of 44% was obtained under the condition of 8-mW/m2 RF power density. The proposed dual-band differential rectenna can easily realize large-scale rectenna arrays by simply connecting the ground conductors on the back.
