Summary:
"Crosstalk (XT) from coupling between different cores of a multi-core fiber (MCF) can limit transmission rates with power fluctuations of 10s dB possible depending on a range of signal and fiber parameters [1]. In fewmode (FM)-MCF, the process is further complicated by different transmission characteristics of different modes. Here, we measure XT fluctuations in different output modes of a neighboring core and observe a mode-dependent XT penalty for PDM-64QAM signals."
