"Multi-core fibers (MCFs) have attracted considerable attention as one of the space-division multiplexing techniques. Two MCF fabrication processes are presently known, namely the stack and draw process [1], and drilling process, whereas new processes have been investigated including an overcladding bundled rods (OBR) method [2] and a slurry casting method [3]. In this study, we experimentally demonstrated the fabrication of MCFs using the OBR method with grinding rods to reduce the core deformation"
