Summary:
This paper defines synchronisation of nonlinear oscillators to irregular (non-periodic) external forcing in terms of (random) pullback attractors and their bifurcations. The mathematical framework is used to study the ability of semiconductor lasers and simplified climatemodels to respond to erratic input signals, including stochastic and quasiperiodic forcing, in a reproducable manner.
