Summary:
An electrical transmission line array composed from FETs as nonlinear saturable elements is studied. As a function of the driving frequency the saturable nonlinearity causes the intrinsic local mode (ILM) width to change in a stepwise manner. At the step transition the mode symmetry changes between odd and even. Linear local modes associated with the ILM are observed to change in number as a step is crossed.
