Summary:
In this paper, we analyze a hybrid spiking neuron which is one of discrete-state neuron models. This neuron exhibits various bifurcation phenomena and response characteristics to the input spike-train. In addition, we investigate a simple learning algorithm of a hybrid spiking neuron. Thanks to the learning algorithm, this neuron can reconstruct the response characteristics of another HSN with an unknown wiring pattern not only in simulations but also on a field programmable gate array.
