Summary:
This paper presents steady tracking error analysis of delay-locked loops used in code division multiple access (CDMA) communications with Markovian spreading codes. Regarding the spreading codes and multiple access interference (MAI) as Markovian probabilistic processes, we describe the DLLs by stochastic difference equations. We then computed probability distribution of the steady tracking error by applying path integral analysis to the equations. From the obtained distribution, we assert that Markovian codes which mitigate the influence of MAI do not always decrease the steady tracking error both in chip-synchronous and asynchronous communications.
