Summary:
Pixel based background subtraction methods and appearance-based tracking systems are too complex and too slow to be applied to UHD. We present here a near real-time tracking system for 8K UHD videos which takes advantage of a block-propagative background subtraction method, an object refinement method and an object-based Hungarian tracking method. By combining the three methods, it is possible to track objects in an 8K UHD video with an average speed of about 6.5 fps including detection and tracking time.
