Summary:
In this paper, we propose a partial transmit sequences(PTS)-based PAPR reduction scheme without side information for OFDM systems. In the transmitter, an iterative algorithm which minimizes the infinity-norm of a transmitted signal is used to determine phase coefficients. To avoid the transmission of side information, the range of the phase coefficients is restricted. In the receiver, the phase coefficients are blindly estimated by evaluating the phase differences between equalizer outputs and candidate symbols. Simulation results show that the proposed PAPR reduction scheme is more computationally efficient than the conventional PTS. Moreover, the impact of the restricted phases on BER performance is evaluated.
