Summary:
This paper proposes an audio fingerprinting method using foreground/background audio separation to improve the high identification accuracy of music retrieval applications operated over wireless networks. In the proposed method, non-repeating foreground audio is separated from repeating background audio and used in the generation of prominent pitch-based binary fingerprints. The experimental results show that the proposed method has respectable results compared to other methods.
