About ISS

Summary

The Information and Systems Society (ISS) is one of the largest societies in the IEICE, covering a wide range of fields from basic theories of information processing to real-world applications and solutions to social issues. ISS aims to contribute to academic progress and industrial development in the age of globalization by serving as a foundation for research communities in various fields and by supporting the research activities of its members.

Technical Committees

ISS has 26 technical committees. They hold conference meetings regularly, setting up various plans such as special themes and invited lectures. Some committees hold events with hundreds of people every year in cooperation with other academic societies.

Society Conferences

Every year in March, ISS and the other IEICE Societies jointy hold the IEICE General Conference. In addition, every summer, ISS cohosts the Forum on Information Technology (FIT) with the Human Communication Group of IEICE and the Information Processing Society of Japan. Through these events, ISS provides opportunities for new encounters with information and people. Specifically, it is focusing on measures to encourage young people, such as with the student poster sessions at the General Conference.

Journals

ISS publishes a monthly Japanese journal (IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems, Japanese Edition) and an English journal (IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems), aiming for careful peer review and timely publication. The ISS English journal is an open access journal for the wider distribution of new discoveries and results to audiences around the world.

Since April 2024, IEICE Transactions Online has launched a trial service offering multilingual access in 16 languages.
Now you can enjoy full-text content of four English journals and ELEX in your preferred language.
Don’t miss the opportunity to explore this innovative multilingual initiative!
Note: Articles published before March 2024 are available with machine-translated bibliographic information and abstracts only.
