2023年URSI学術賞の受賞候補者推薦依頼が
ありました。推薦がありましたら，

6月13日までにお送り願いします。

2023年URSI学術賞について、ご連絡とお願いをさせていただきます。
(1) 先日のURSI分科会（第25期・第3回）にてご報告したように、URSI本部より、
2023年URSI総会（GASS 2023）に向けての、2023年URSI学術賞（URSI Awards
2023）の受賞候補者推薦依頼が届いています。詳細については本メール末尾の引
用メールと添付ファイルをご確認下さい。
(2) URSI学術賞の各賞の趣旨を考慮のうえ、受賞候補者につきご検討下さい。受
賞候補者に関するご提案がある場合には、以下の情報（和文）を、2022年6月17
日(金)までに、
八木谷委員長（yagitani@is.t.kanazawa-u.ac.jp）
芳原幹事（hobara@ee.uec.ac.jp）
までご連絡下さい。なお、候補者の推薦は自薦・他薦のいずれでも結構です。

(3) 以下のスケジュール（予定）にしたがい、皆様からご推薦いただいた受賞候
補者を幹事団でとりまとめ、URSI分科会メール会議にて審議のうえ、日本（
Japan National Committee of URSI）から推薦する候補者を決定したいと存じま
す。その後、推薦書を作成し、2022年8月5日までにURSI本部に送付いたします。
・6月17日：URSI分科会内での候補者推薦締切
・6月18日～24日：URSI分科会メール会議（候補者に関する審議）
・6月25日：URSI分科会メール会議報告（URSI本部に推薦する候補者を決定）
・6月26日～8月5日：Nomination Formを作成、URSI本部に順次提出
・8月15日：Nomination FormのURSI本部への提出期限
(4) 受賞候補者につき、積極的にご検討いただきますよう、お願いいたします。
小委員会委員長の皆様におかれましては、各小委員会の中でも受賞候補者につき
ご検討下さい。

Dear Colleague,
This letter calls for nominations for each of the seven URSI awards to be
presented at the opening ceremony of the URSI General Assembly and
Scientific Symposium to be held in Sapporo on 19 August 2023. A nomination
form is attached to this letter together with the list of former awardees.
The “senior” awards are the van der Pol Gold Medal, the John Howard
Dellinger Gold Medal, the Appleton Prize, the Booker Gold Medal and the
Rawer Gold Medal. The “early career” awards are the Issac Koga Gold Medal
and the Santimay Basu Prize. The rules governing these awards are attached
to help you assess potential candidates. The rules governing the President’
s Award are included for information – only Board members can nominate
candidates for this award.
The following summarises the rules and the process for nomination.
1. Only addressees of this letter may nominate candidates.
2. Each can nominate up to seven candidates, one for each award.
3. A senior award is for career achievements. Consistent with the
above, we encourage you to consider candidates previously
unsuccessful.
4. Please note that we are asking for a nomination statement and
supporter statements.
5. All nominations must be submitted in electronic form to the URSI
Secretariat before 15 August 2022 using the email address
info@ursi.org. Paper submissions will only be accepted in
exceptional circumstances.
