International Sections

IEICE International Sections Representative Program

As a center for IEICE activities, the International Sections Representatives are appointed at each major regional area (city) outside Japan. We are expecting the members of these sections to participate positively in our academic activities, and the sections representatives will act as liaisons between IEICE and the members in their respective sections through the following their activities.

Planning and implementing "lecture meeting or workshop" in each area about twice a year. (Japanese members living in representative section can also attend them.)
Publicizing activities of the IEICE on the occasions of such lecture meetings or workshops. UP!
Attending an annual "All Sections Meeting" in Japan.

GlobalNet Workshop & International Reception Party

The GlobalNet Workshop (GNW) is organized by the IEICE International Affairs Committee to foster interaction between international and Japanese students in fields related to IEICE.
This workshop opens with an ice-breaking poster session, where international students present on topics of their choice. As future ambassadors connecting Japan with their home countries and beyond, international students studying in Japan are invaluable assets; many have already embarked on global careers.

This event provides an excellent opportunity for cross-cultural connections among driven students in related fields, which we hope will support participants in finding fulfilling career paths in Japan. You can read the event report on our past GNW!
The session welcomes all students, not only international students but also Japanese students, whether based in Japan or abroad, to present in English.
We also encourage junior participants, including elementary, junior high, and high school students, technical college students, and other young learners interested in exploring English-based academic exchange for the first time.
