Summary:
A simple model of spiking neurons is proposed by Izhikevich. Some experimental results, origin of the mathematical model, firing pattern of all known types of neurons are reported. However bifurcation analysis has not been investigated in details. In this paper, we propose a method to trace bifurcation sets for a piecewise nonlinear equations with state-dependent jump and investigate bifurcations of equilibrium and periodic solutions for this system.
