Summary:
In this paper, we propose two algorithms which improve the error performance of the Block Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (BTHP) system. The proposed expanded ML (eML) algorithm provides an approach to apply the ML receiver to the BTHP system. The proposed block QR (bQR) algorithm makes the effective MIMO channel from which the proposed eML can obtain spatial diversity gain. By applying the proposed methods, BTHP can obtain the spatial diversity and considerable error performance improvement.
