Summary:
Radio access networks (RANs) based on New Radio (NR) standard in 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) achieves the higher system capacity, higher spectral efficiency and data rate, and lower latency compared to the long term evolution (LTE) standard. The NR based RAN is used also for broadcast emergency information and public safety due to the advantageous features as well as the LTE based RAN. Hence, the assessment of physical channels for the jamming signal is necessary for achieving the secure RAN. This paper investigates correct detection probability (CDP) of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence of the NR physical broadcast channel (PBCH) that is effective for a jammer to cause denial of service (DoS) of the NR RAN for the purpose of public safety network. Computer simulation results show that the PBCH DMRS sequence exhibit robustness against the jamming signal with the received jamming-to-signal power (J/S) level of less than approximately 10 dB.
