Summary:
In this paper, we propose a novel bowtie antenna using leaf- shaped radiating elements for UWB applications. This antenna has unidirectional radiation patterns over the frequency range of3.0 to 10.5 GHz. The actual gain in the maximum radiation direction is above 5 dBi in the UWB frequency band. From the evaluation of cross-correlation between source pulse and received pulse waveforms, it is observed that the waveform distortion caused by this antenna is relatively small.
