Summary:
Dynamics of traveling discrete breathers (DBs) in an approximated version of the pairwise interaction symmetric lattice (PISL) is investigated. Approximated PISL is constructed by truncating the pairwise interactions up to a finite small nearest neighbor particles. Even in the truncated PISL, a traveling DB has good mobility. Effective periodic barriers for the traveling DB becomes much smaller than the original Fermi-Pasta-Ulam (FPU) lattice even if interactions between a few nearest neighbor particles are considered.
