Summary:
In this paper, we study the head position seek control of hard disk drives. We propose to combine the reference management method using reference governor with outer feedback and the model following control method. We apply the former method to the control model, which is a low-order nominal model, and the control input and the output for the control model are used the control input and the reference signal for the real hard disk systems, which has the high-order resonant term and with parametric uncertainly.
