Summary:
A ホイ encoder is an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter, that outputs a truncated sequence of ホイexpansion of an input value x. We recently proposed a method for generating sequences of random numbers using a hardware ホイ encoder followed by a ホイ-ary to binary converter. This paper gives the performance analysis of the random number generation in terms of the variational distance between the target distribution and the distribution of the output sequence and the expected length of the input sequence per one output symbol.
