Summary:
This paper is concerned with a linearization approach for nonlinear systems with delays in the state variables using Chebyshev expansion. This approach is based on coordinate transformation with respect to a linearization function which is defined by Chebyshev polynomials. The resulting time-delay linearized systems can be analytically obtained by using Chebyshev expansion and its inversion is simple. As a tentative application of this linearization approach, a time-delay nonlinear observer is synthesized. Numerical experiments are illustrated to show e?ectiveness of this linearization for time-delay nonlinear systems.
