Summary:
This study considers the dynamics of a bouncing ball on a periodical vibrated plate. The bouncing ball system is basic to describe collision phenomenon. We produced the experimental equipment composed of a ping-pong ball, a table tennis paddle with rubber and a shaker to vibrate the paddle. Our frequency response experiments using the equipment show that the maximum height of the ball increases stepwise as varying the vibrated plate frequency, and similar results are obtained by our simulations.
