Student Design Competition (SDC)

TJMW will be hosting a Student Design Competition (SDC). The main objective of this event is to encourage students to have interests in microwave engineering and to experience challenges in practical hardware designs and measurements. Competitors will design, fabricate, and measure circuits on the day. A tutorial session will also be provided.

Guidelines

  1. Topic

Broadband Matching Circuit Design for a 2.4 GHz Rectifier

  2. Schedule (SDC Only)

    • October 15 (Wed), 2025. @KMUTNB

      09:30–09:45  Registration (for SDC Participants)
      09:45–11:15  SDC1: Warming-up Session (Ice-breaking & Intro Hands-on)
      14:30–15:30  SDC2: Tutorial Session
      15:40–17:10  SDC3: Hands-on (Matching Design, Implementation & Measurement)

    • October 16 (Thu), 2025.

17:00–19:00  Award Ceremony (at the Conference Banquet)

  3. Rules

    • No advance preparation is required.
    • Each team consists 4-6 students (nationally mixed member) by SDC chairs. Members should cooperate in activities for achievement.
    • Basics of the design will be lectured by the SDC chairs.
    • The core circuit will be specified on the day. The core circuit can not be modified. Students will design a matching circuit only.
    • Target impedance to design a matching circuit is given on the day.
    • Any design tools may be used (hand calculation, PC program, AI tools, or circuit simulators).
    • Students handle soldering to fabricate the designed circuit.
    • The fabricated circuit is evaluated and scored. The highest score team wins.

  4. Entry

Please fill this SDC Registration form.

    • SDC Entry deadline: October 3, 2025.
    • SDC Entry fee: Free of charge
    • Conference registration is also required for SDC participation.
