Summary:
Vibration cutting is an effective processing method to cut hard materials. In order to obtain the effect of the vibration cutting, the cutting speed must set lower than the velocity of the tool edge, theoretically. However, the actual vibration cutting device often suffers from decline in accuracy caused by the non-linear vibration. The purpose of this paper is evaluation of the vibration cutting state by using power spectrum analysis. We focus on natural frequency of workpiece support system, and show the power level of the natural frequency is useful for vibration cutting state prediction.
