Summary:
In this work several multi-nodal all-optical network topologies, based on mutually coupled semiconductor lasers, are investigated regarding synchronization and sensitivity. A sufficient number of such laser nodes with appropriate mutual couplings can result in a collective and synchronized behavior, producing different types of dynamics depending on the network configuration and node parameters. The use of such networks in real world applications is a topic of ongoing investigation. Different topologies are evaluated in terms of sensitivity when specific alterations occur in the network, in order to conclude to the most efficient scheme for sensing applications, intrusion detection or network integrity.
