Summary:
Array beam pattern is distorted when transmitter and receiver module's (TRM's) malfunction occurs as time goes on. To overcome the performance degradation, re-synthesizing the optimal beam pattern with activated TRMs is preferable to repair or replace the TRM. This paper proposed a method for re-synthesizing optimal beam pattern from the damaged beam pattern using an adaptive genetic algorithm. The proposed method allows increased calculation speed with improved accuracy and provides a cost-effective and less time consuming solution for active phased array antenna systems.
