Summary:
Smartphones are widely used. These can be used in landscape or portrait mode. When a user rotates the device, its operating system detects the rotation and changes the screen display orientation (landscape or portrait). However, the implementation for this rotation has not been largely improved in the past decade. In the case of the Android OS implementation, it has a pessimistic policy and causes a delay between the time the user rotates the device and the time the screen display rotates. This delay may degrade the user experience. In a work, a method that predicts future rotations with SVM and rotates the screen orientation quickly. However, the method had a drawback that it sometimes inaccurately predicts the rotation. In this paper, we discuss the relationship between the SVM data preparation method and the accuracy rate.
