Summary:
Visually impaired people are exposed to many risks of various accidents during walking such as collisions with obstacles and people. To reduce such risks, smart cane, which can detect obstacles such as a step and stairs by the equipped sensors, has been developed. Originally, visually impaired people independently avoid obstacles using a general white cane. However, redundant notifications from smart cane might interfere with their walking even if the notifications include valuable ones. Generally, when they imply to need a support to understand the current surroundings, they might feel various psychological stress depending on situations in real-time. This paper analyzes the various stress based on situational factors using biological information obtained from multiple wearable devices towards the real-time estimation.
