Summary:
With the spread of mobile devices, mobile traffic has increased rapidly, which has increased the CAPEX/OPEX of cellular network service providers. Even when service providers provide the same communication quality, user satisfaction differs depending on user contexts, such as applications and devices. Therefore, user satisfaction can be improved by understanding the user's context and managing networks appropriately. In this paper, we focus on the application as the context that is considered to have the greatest impact on satisfaction due to differences in quality among contexts. We propose a method to estimate the ratio of the number of application users in a cell by machine learning, on the basis of the statistical information of network performance obtained from base stations by operators. We evaluated the proposed method in a simulation and found it estimated with sufficiently high accuracy.
